Clarion Call to Worship

John 1:1-5  ¹ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  ² The same was in the beginning with God.  ³ All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.  ⁴ In him was life; and the life was the light of men.  ⁵ And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Proverbs 1:7-8  ⁷ The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.  ⁸ My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Proverbs 18:24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

Proverbs 22:1 A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.

Proverbs 23:23 Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

Psalm 14:1 (To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.) The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Ecclesiastes 12:1-14  Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them¹³  Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.  ¹⁴  For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Psalm 119:9-16   BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.  ¹⁰ With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.  ¹¹ Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.  ¹² Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.  ¹³ With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.  ¹⁴ I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.  ¹⁵ I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.  ¹⁶ I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.
